Hon. Charles Appiah-Kubi Champions Economic Development as Bosome Freho Intensifies Road Reshaping
The Bosome Freho District Assembly has reaffirmed its commitment to accelerating economic development through targeted infrastructure and social interventions, with the District Chief Executive, Hon. Charles Appiah-Kubi, stressing that any actions aimed at undermining government programmes and progress within the district will not be tolerated.

According to Hon. Appiah-Kubi, the Assembly’s development agenda is firmly anchored on initiatives that stimulate economic activities, improve livelihoods and enhance the overall well-being of residents. He noted that the district will continue to prioritise projects with direct impact on growth, particularly those that open up communities, strengthen local commerce and improve access to essential services.
A major challenge confronting the district, he observed, has been the poor state of road infrastructure, which for years has constrained movement, trade and service delivery across several communities. In response, the Assembly has intensified efforts to reshape critical road networks using District Road Improvement Programme (DRIP) machines, a move aimed at easing transportation difficulties and boosting socio-economic activities.

Hon. Appiah-Kubi commended the Works Department of the Assembly for its dedication and technical support in the ongoing reshaping exercise, describing their efforts as crucial to the district’s development drive. He explained that improved road conditions would significantly enhance access to markets, health facilities and educational institutions, thereby reducing the hardships faced by residents, especially in remote areas.
“We have suffered deficits for far too long, particularly in road infrastructure,” the DCE stated, adding that the current intervention is a strategic step towards reversing years of neglect and stimulating economic growth at the grassroots level. He therefore appealed to residents to cooperate fully with the Assembly and support the ongoing works to ensure their successful completion.
Despite these efforts, Hon. Appiah-Kubi acknowledged the Assembly’s limited financial and logistical capacity, and called on central government and development partners to provide additional support to sustain and expand the infrastructure programme. He emphasised that with adequate backing, the district would be better positioned to deliver transformative projects that improve living standards and create opportunities for the people of Bosome Freho.

The Bosome Freho District Assembly remains optimistic that the renewed focus on road infrastructure and economic empowerment will lay a solid foundation for long-term development and inclusive growth across the district.
