Hon. Abubakari Sadiq Reaffirms Commitment to Education, Health and Economic Growth in Ahafo Ano South West

The District Chief Executive (DCE) of the Ahafo Ano South West District, Hon. Abubakari Sadiq, has reaffirmed his firm commitment to prioritising education, healthcare delivery and economic growth as key pillars of development within the district.

According to the DCE, although successive governments have made attempts to address development needs in the area, several communities continue to experience persistent challenges in critical sectors. He noted that gaps remain in education infrastructure, health facilities, road networks, rural electrification, sanitation and access to potable water, stressing the need for deliberate and sustained interventions.

Hon. Abubakari Sadiq made these remarks at Adadekrom during the commencement of his thank-you tour of the district, an exercise aimed at expressing appreciation to party members, traditional leaders and residents for their continuous support. The tour, he explained, also provides an opportunity to engage stakeholders and share his development vision for the district.

He indicated that Ahafo Ano South West requires strategic and transformative infrastructural projects that will not only improve living conditions but also stimulate economic activities. In this regard, the DCE assured residents that he remains ready to contribute his quota in whatever capacity to address the development needs of the people.

Touching on ongoing and planned projects, Hon. Abubakari Sadiq revealed that a number of initiatives are underway to uplift the district. He announced that plans are far advanced for the sod-cutting ceremony for the construction of a 24-hour market complex, a project expected to boost local commerce, create employment opportunities and strengthen the district’s economy.

The DCE further encouraged residents, opinion leaders and development partners to actively share ideas and proposals that would support the growth of the district, noting that his administration remains open and inclusive. He called for unity and collective support, emphasizing that meaningful development can only be achieved through collaboration.

“I am determined to do everything within my power to bring development closer to the people, and I urge all stakeholders to support this agenda for the progress of our district,” he stated.

Meanwhile, the Vice Chairman of the constituency, Hon. David Mawuli, called on the youth to remain hopeful despite prevailing economic difficulties. He urged them to maintain confidence in the government, assuring that plans are underway to create employment opportunities for the youth in the near future.

The thank-you tour is expected to continue across several communities in the Ahafo Ano South West District, fostering dialogue, accountability and renewed commitment to sustainable development.
