Hon. Abubakari Sadiq Begins ‘Thank You Tour’ in Ahafo Ano South West to Appreciate Voters’ Support
The 2024 Parliamentary Candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for the Ahafo Ano South West Constituency, Hon. Abubakari Sadiq, has commenced a district-wide “Thank You Tour” to express his profound gratitude to the chiefs, opinion leaders, party executives, and residents of the constituency for their massive support during the December 2024 general elections.
The tour, which marks his first major engagement with constituents after the elections, aims to appreciate the people for the confidence they reposed in him and in the NDC’s Presidential Candidate, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, who has since been sworn in as the President of the Republic of Ghana.
Hon. Sadiq began his tour from Adadekrom and continued to Domeabra, where he received a warm and enthusiastic welcome from community members, traditional leaders, and NDC supporters. Accompanied by some constituency executives and local party elders, he used the platform to personally thank the people for their dedication and loyalty to the party, which contributed to the NDC’s victory in the presidential election.
Speaking during one of the community interactions, Hon. Abubakari Sadiq said his tour was not only to show appreciation but also to reassure constituents of his unwavering commitment to bringing development to every corner of the district. He revealed that, in consultation with President Mahama and relevant government agencies, about fifteen development projects are set to begin soon in the Ahafo Ano South West District to enhance the living conditions of residents.
According to him, some key roads in the constituency will be reshaped to improve transportation between rural communities and major towns in the district. He noted that better road networks will facilitate the movement of goods and services and help open up the area for economic growth.
Hon. Sadiq further disclosed that Adadekrom, Domeabra, and four other surrounding communities will soon be connected to reliable telecommunication networks to improve communication accessibility. “Very soon, residents will be able to make phone calls right from their rooms and conduct business with ease,” he assured, emphasizing that the era of poor network coverage in those communities would soon be a thing of the past.
He also took the opportunity to introduce himself formally to the people as President Mahama’s nominee for the position of District Chief Executive (DCE) for Ahafo Ano South West. He appealed for their continuous prayers, unity, and cooperation to ensure a smooth and successful development agenda for the district.
During the tour, Hon. Abubakari Sadiq interacted with chiefs and queen mothers, religious and opinion leaders, and branch executives of the NDC. He reiterated his belief that community engagement and participatory governance are essential to sustainable development, pledging to maintain an open-door policy that welcomes contributions from all residents regardless of political affiliation.
Traditional leaders and residents commended Hon. Sadiq for his humility and commitment to serve. They expressed optimism that his leadership, coupled with President Mahama’s renewed vision for national transformation, would bring lasting development to the Ahafo Ano South West District.
Hon. Abubakari Sadiq’s “Thank You Tour” is expected to cover all major towns and villages within the district in the coming days as he continues to interact with constituents, strengthen the bond between the NDC and the people, and set the tone for the new phase of local development under the Mahama-led administration.
