Hard Drugs Can Destroy Your Future – Nana Agyenim Boateng Kra Addo II Warns Youth

The Chief of Adum Kwanwoma in the Atwima Kwanwoma Municipal Assembly of the Ashanti Region, Nana Agyenim Boateng Kra Addo II, has issued a strong caution to the youth against the abuse of hard drugs, describing the practice as a serious threat to their future and the overall development of society.

According to the traditional ruler, the increasing use of substances such as tramadol, marijuana (wee) and other unregulated drugs among young people is gradually destroying lives and weakening the moral and productive fabric of communities. He stressed that the misuse of such substances, especially without medical prescription, can lead to long-term health complications, social deviance and the loss of opportunities that could otherwise secure a better future for the youth.

Nana Agyenim Boateng Kra Addo II made these remarks in an interview with Oyerepa and Promise News after leading the youth of the Adum Kwanwoma Traditional Area on a Unity Walk as part of activities ahead of a Christmas Football Gala he is organizing for communities within the area. The event, he explained, is aimed at promoting peace, togetherness and healthy lifestyles among the youth, particularly during the festive season.

The chief emphasized that development cannot thrive in an environment where the youth are trapped in drug abuse, indiscipline and disunity. He noted that young people remain the backbone of every community and must therefore be protected, guided and empowered to make responsible choices that will contribute positively to local and national development.

He further appealed to the youth of Adum Kwanwoma and Ghana as a whole to reject drug abuse and channel their energy into productive ventures, education, sports and community service. According to him, unity, discipline and hard work are essential ingredients for transforming Adum Kwanwoma into a progressive and peaceful traditional area.

Nana Agyenim Boateng Kra Addo II also called on parents, opinion leaders and other stakeholders to support efforts aimed at educating young people on the dangers of drug abuse and the importance of moral upbringing. He expressed optimism that with collective responsibility and sustained engagement, the youth of Adum Kwanwoma can be steered onto a path of purpose, peace and development.
