Green Ghana Project- Amansie west DCE charged Ghanaians to embrace the exercise

The district chief Executive Officer for Amansie West District Hon Nii Lartey Ollenu has charged Ghanaians to embrace tree planting project to support the fight against climate change.

The government of Ghana under His.Excellence Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo Addo has introduce a program known as green Ghana project aiming to plant over 20 million plants this year under the theme mobilizing for greener future as compared to five million planted last year.

All the MMDAs are all expected to get involved with this exercise and for that matter Amansie West District Assembly under the leadership of Hon.Nii Lartey Ollenu together with staffs of the assembly, students and chiefs were abled to plant thousand of trees.

Addressing the media after successful exercise Hon.Nii Lartey Ollenu stated that the policies been enrolled by the president of Ghana signalize that the president is on course to make Ghana great and we all need to help him. Tree planting is a share responsibility for all of us and we are need to engage ourselves in this exercise and that is the only way we can save our environment.

The DCE for Amansie West District Hon.Nii Lartey Ollenu expressed worried about how illegal chain saw operators and galamzey operators are destroying our trees and environment without going for any permit. Plants gives us carbon dioxide so why should we sat down for others to destroy our environment for us we all need to join hands to protect it.

In conclusion Hon. Nii Lartey Ollenu revealed that the assembly is going to monitor all the planted trees through GPRS system plant is life so let us protect it he also pleaded with all the Assembly members within his area to help him fight illegal chainsaw operators including galamzey operators who destroy the environment.


However, The assistant Forestry manager at Bekwai Municipality Mr George Andoh Baidoo also urged Ghanaians to show commitment to the government initiative to protect Forest reserves.
