Great Osama Calls on Government to Ease Business Start-Up Process

Prominent businessman and philanthropist, Mr. Kwaku Abonee, popularly known as Great Osama, has made a passionate appeal to the Government of Ghana to simplify the process of starting a business in the country. Speaking in an exclusive interview at Manso Akwasiso in the Amansie South District, Great Osama expressed concern over the bureaucratic hurdles that aspiring entrepreneurs are forced to navigate.

According to him, the existing system is overly complicated, time-consuming, and discouraging to potential investors and young entrepreneurs. “Businessmen in Ghana go through too much frustration before setting up a company,” he lamented. “The government must make the system more flexible, reliable, and efficient. When the process becomes easier, more people will be motivated to start businesses, and that will lead to more job opportunities for our youth, especially the unemployed graduates.”

Great Osama pointed out specific challenges such as excessive paperwork, prolonged delays in document processing, and a lack of digitalization and transparency within key government agencies responsible for business registration. He believes that a more business-friendly environment will not only boost economic growth but also reduce the high rate of youth unemployment in the country.

Beyond business, Great Osama is also making strides in the creative arts sector. He disclosed his ongoing efforts to support and mentor young musicians in the Amansie South District. With a passion for unearthing raw talent, he aims to build a platform where young artistes can receive the exposure and guidance they need to flourish. “I have a vision to promote young artistes in Amansie South. There is a lot of talent here, and with the right push, we can have our own Stonebwoy, Shatta Wale, or Sarkodie emerging from this district,” he stated.

He also used the opportunity to advise upcoming artistes across the country to stay focused, disciplined, and grounded in their craft. “Be respectful, be humble, and take your time. Don’t rush for fame or money. Success in the music industry takes patience, hard work, and character,” he advised.

Mr. Abonee’s dual commitment to entrepreneurship and the creative arts highlights his broader vision for holistic community development—one that empowers youth both economically and artistically.
