GOVERNMENT ON COURSE TO IMPROVE STRUCTURES TO STRENGTHENING LOCAL GOVERNANCE-MINISTER ASSURES.

The minister of local government decentralization and rural development also the member of parliament for offinso North Hon Augustine Collins Ntim has assured that , government is on course to improve structure to strengthening local governance.

Speaking with the media at GARU district in the upper East region,Hon Collins Ntim made it clear that,the Eighty (80) million dollars world bank programme Ghana productive safety net programme being implemented will enhace skills and training to empower people.

According to Hon minister Twenty (20) percent of the Eighty (80) million dollars pro- poor programme Ghana productive safety net money will be located to upper east alone “he stressed”. So far over 3’500 people from six Districts (pusiga,Garu,Tempane,Bulsa south ,Bulsa North and Yagaba kabore )have benefited from this initiative both skilled and unskilled person’s in the region.

 

The district chief Executive officer of GARU district Assembly Hon Osman musah was happy that his District is benefiting from some construction projects in the area of roads,one village one one dam among others to empower the people..
