Ghana joins the world to celebrate world social workers day in Kumasi.

Every 16th March is chosen to celebrate world social work day to bring the attention of social economic impart on the activities of the Department of Community Development aim at empower citizenry through sentitization exercise on the need to start mobilization of material and financial resources for self-help developmental projects in their various communities.

As part of 16th March 2021 celebration, the Ashanti regional directorate embarks on series of sentitization exercise for staffs and management of department of Community Development to enable them to embarks on their responsibility through engage with key stakeholders in various Communities towards developmental projects.

Speaking to the media, the Ashanti regional director of Department of Community Development, Mrs Janet Gyamfua Amoonu used the occasion to appealed to the government to extend support to the regional directorate with logistics such vehicles, motor bikes and office equipments to help them performance their duty well.

She expressed worry about the current situation as the regional directorate don’t have even single vehicle to carry on their duty performance.

She said, efficient performance of workers of Department of Community Development will help to sentitize some youth in various Communities who feel to have been neglected by the society to enable them reform for better lives.

She said, lack of logistics to help them performance this targeted responsibility as a result rendered many youth into social vices like smoking and arm robbery activities.
