The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Free Zones Authority (GFZA), Dr. Mary Awusi, today received a distinguished delegation from Riphah International University, Islamabad, Pakistan, led by the Chancellor, Mr. Hassan Muhammad Khan, at the GFZA Head Office in Accra. The visit was part of the University’s strategic mission to explore potential investment and academic collaboration opportunities in Ghana.

During the meeting, Dr. Awusi provided an in-depth overview of Ghana’s Free Zones Scheme, highlighting its objectives, regulatory framework, and the extensive incentives available to investors. She emphasized the strategic advantages of operating in Ghana, including tax exemptions and access to both regional and international markets, positioning the country as an attractive hub for export-oriented businesses across multiple sectors.

The delegation expressed keen interest in initiatives spanning agribusiness, medical, and educational partnerships, with particular focus on capacity building, research collaboration, and student exchange programmes. Both parties agreed to continue discussions aimed at advancing academic cooperation, research collaboration, and investment initiatives, further strengthening bilateral relations between Ghana and Pakistan.

Also present at the meeting were Dr. Patience Agbleze Acorlor, Director of Corporate Affairs, PR & Aftercare, and Mrs. Evelyn Oye Asante, Director of Human Resource, who provided support during the deliberations.

This engagement underscores the Ghana Free Zones Authority’s commitment to fostering international partnerships that promote investment, knowledge exchange, and sustainable economic growth.
