Dr. Mary Awusi, Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Free Zones Authority (GFZA), actively engaged with global investors and business leaders at the Türkiye–Africa Business and Economic Forum (TABEF) held in Türkiye on 17th October 2025. The Forum, a flagship initiative organized by the Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEİK) in collaboration with the Turkish Ministry of Trade and Economy, brought together over 4,000 participants from across Türkiye and Africa to explore trade, investment, and industrial collaboration opportunities.

Under the theme “Leveraging Türkiye–Africa Relations for Mutual Gains,” TABEF 2025 served as a dynamic platform for fostering partnerships, attracting investment, and promoting economic growth across sectors. The Forum featured a series of high-level Business-to-Business (B2B) meetings, panel discussions, and networking sessions aimed at connecting African markets with Turkish investors and multinational corporations.

Dr. Awusi represented Ghana with distinction, joining Ghana’s Deputy Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, Hon. Sampson Ahi, and Ghana’s Ambassador to Türkiye, H.E. Abdul Nasiru-Deen, in strategic discussions with potential investors. She highlighted the investment potential within Ghana’s Free Zones, emphasizing the GFZA’s role in providing investors with incentives, modern infrastructure, and a business-friendly regulatory environment designed to facilitate industrial growth.

Speaking at the Forum, Dr. Awusi stated, “Our participation at TABEF underscores Ghana’s commitment to economic diplomacy and our determination to attract high-quality investments that will generate jobs, stimulate industrialization, and enhance Ghana’s global trade footprint.”

The Forum’s agenda also focused on identifying opportunities in key sectors such as manufacturing, agribusiness, energy, logistics, and digital trade. Dr. Awusi engaged in multiple bilateral discussions aimed at exploring joint ventures, technology transfer agreements, and sustainable business initiatives that align with Ghana’s development priorities.

TABEF 2025 provided a unique platform for African nations to strengthen their economic partnerships with Türkiye, fostering collaboration that promotes mutual gains and inclusive growth. For Ghana, the Forum reinforced the country’s position as a preferred destination for investment and industrial development, highlighting the strategic role of the GFZA in facilitating investor engagement and promoting economic diversification.

By participating in this landmark event, Dr. Awusi reaffirmed Ghana’s commitment to leveraging international partnerships for national development, ensuring that investors and stakeholders recognize the immense opportunities within Ghana’s Free Zones and broader economic landscape.
