GES Releases 2025 SHS Placement Results, Provides Dedicated Support Channels for Unplaced Candidates

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has officially released the 2025 Senior High School (SHS) placement results, bringing relief to thousands of Junior High School graduates and their families across the country. Out of the 603,328 results received from the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), a total of 451,797 candidates have successfully been placed in various Senior High, Technical, and Vocational institutions under the Computerized School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS).

According to the GES, 19,898 results have been withheld or cancelled due to various forms of examination malpractice detected during the marking and validation process. Additionally, some qualified candidates were unable to secure placement in any of their selected schools due to competition for limited spaces in their preferred institutions. Such candidates are required to use the self-placement module to secure admission into available schools.

The Service has advised all students and parents to immediately verify their placement status and, where applicable, complete the self-placement process before the stipulated deadline to avoid missing out on enrollment.

In an effort to address the usual challenges associated with the placement process, the GES has introduced dedicated WhatsApp support lines — 0201045066 and 0201045157 — to assist students, parents, teachers, and other stakeholders with queries, complaints, and guidance on placement-related issues.

Explaining the self-placement process, the GES stated that candidates who have not been placed can log onto the CSSPS portal, select their preferred region, choose between day or boarding status, pick a school from the list of available options, and then select their programme of study. Candidates are allowed to modify their choices at any time before completing their enrollment.

Daniel Fenyi, Head of Public Relations at the GES, signed the official release and extended best wishes to all successful candidates, encouraging them to embrace the next phase of their academic journey with determination and discipline. He also urged parents and guardians to offer guidance and support to their wards during the transition to secondary education.

The 2025 SHS placement results are expected to usher in a new academic year with thousands of fresh students entering Senior High Schools nationwide in the coming weeks.
