German Delegation Meets GFZA Boss Dr. Mary Awusi to Explore Investment Prospects in Ghana
The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Free Zones Authority (GFZA), Dr. Mary Awusi, has reiterated Ghana’s unwavering commitment to fostering trade and investment partnerships as she engaged a high-level German delegation during a Business Roundtable organized by the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC). The meeting was held in Accra as part of the official State Visit of the President of the Federal Republic of Germany, H.E. Frank-Walter Steinmeier, to Ghana.
The Business Roundtable served as a significant platform to strengthen Ghana-Germany economic relations and to explore new avenues for cooperation in sectors such as manufacturing, agribusiness, renewable energy, and industrial development. The German delegation, led by Dr. Thomas Steffen, held fruitful discussions with Ghanaian government representatives, industry leaders, and investment agencies on deepening bilateral trade and exploring sustainable business opportunities.
In her remarks, Dr. Mary Awusi commended the GIPC for hosting such a high-level engagement and expressed gratitude to the German delegation for showing keen interest in Ghana’s growing investment potential. She emphasized that the Authority continues to champion initiatives that promote value addition, industrial diversification, and technology transfer to boost productivity and competitiveness.
The discussions during the meeting focused on potential areas of collaboration between Ghanaian and German businesses, particularly in renewable energy solutions, agro-processing, and light manufacturing. The two sides explored how Ghana’s Free Zones infrastructure could serve as a launchpad for German investors looking to establish a strong foothold in West Africa’s growing market.
