George Banson Celebrates Birthday by Donating Christmas Gifts to Teshie Children’s Home
The Chief Executive Officer of the Oshogas Foundation, Mr. George Banson, has marked his birthday with a generous donation of Christmas gifts to children at the Teshie Children’s Home, reaffirming his long-standing commitment to supporting vulnerable children in society.
Following his birthday celebration, Mr. Banson, together with members of his team, paid a visit to the Teshie Children’s Home where they distributed assorted Christmas gifts to the children. The visit formed part of his annual tradition of using his birthday as an opportunity to reach out to orphanage homes and children in need, especially during the festive season.
Over the years, Mr. Banson has extended similar gestures to several orphanage homes, including Echoing Hills Orphanage, Catholic Action for Street Children, Osu Children’s Home and Motherly Love Orphanage. This year’s visit to the Teshie Children’s Home marked yet another milestone in his continuous effort to bring joy, hope and practical support to vulnerable children.

Speaking to Telegraph Online, Mr. George Banson disclosed that the donation marks the fifth consecutive year he has chosen to celebrate his birthday by giving back to orphanage homes. He expressed his joy at interacting with the children at Teshie and noted that such encounters strengthen his resolve to continue supporting children’s homes beyond special occasions.

“I am delighted to be here with the children of Teshie. Being with them today reinforces my commitment to support orphanage homes not only on my birthday, but throughout the year,” he said. Mr. Banson also used the opportunity to encourage the general public to embrace the spirit of giving, urging individuals and organizations to donate to children’s homes. According to him, supporting the less privileged attracts divine blessings and reflects the true meaning of the season.
He further expressed gratitude to the caregivers and volunteers at the home for their dedication and sacrifice, emphasizing that caring for vulnerable children is a noble responsibility that deserves collective support.

Receiving the items on behalf of the home, the caretaker expressed profound appreciation to Mr. Banson for his generosity and consistency over the years. He highlighted some of the major challenges confronting the home, particularly difficulties in paying utility bills and funding the children’s school fees. He appealed to benevolent individuals, corporate bodies and institutions to come on board and support the home to help improve the welfare and future of the children.
The children could not hide their excitement as Mr. Banson arrived at the facility. With bright smiles and joyful cheers, they warmly welcomed him and expressed heartfelt gratitude for the gifts and kindness shown to them. The atmosphere was filled with happiness as the children interacted with their benefactor, making the visit a memorable one for both the donors and the beneficiaries.

Mr. George Banson’s birthday donation once again underscores the impact of purposeful giving and highlights how individual acts of kindness can bring hope and joy to those who need it most, especially during the festive season.
