Reports reaching the desk of Skyypowerfm.com indicates that a third-year student of Sekondi College (Secko) has drowned at Essel Beach in Sekondi, Western Region.
According to an eyewitness, the incident happened at about 1 p.m. on Monday, May 1, when four male friends who are students from the institution went swimming at the said beach.

Whiles swimming, the three friends realised the victim was struggling and being dragged deeper into the sea by the strong tides, prompting them to call for help.
When rescue arrived, it was too late for the victim, who was no longer visible in the water.
As of the time of writing this report, the victim is still yet to be found.
