Fatal Road Accidents Kill Five in Western, Western North Regions
Five people have tragically lost their lives in two separate fatal road accidents that occurred in the Western and Western North Regions within the week.

The first accident happened on the Enchi–Achimfo road in the Western North Region and claimed three lives. The crash occurred at Asaanu Valley Junction and involved a tricycle, locally known as a ‘Pragya’, and a truck.
According to eyewitness accounts, the tricycle, which was travelling from the Enchi direction, collided head-on with the truck moving from the opposite direction. The impact was so severe that the rider and two passengers on the tricycle died instantly.
In a related incident, two more lives were lost in another fatal crash at Mpintsin Junction near Sekondi in the Western Region on Wednesday evening. This accident involved a KIA Picanto taxi, with registration number WR 1604-18, and another taxi, an Opel vehicle with registration number NR 3584-V.
Reports indicate that the KIA Picanto taxi driver and a passenger on board died on the spot after the two vehicles collided. The force of the impact left both vehicles severely damaged, drawing the attention of bystanders and emergency responders.
The bodies of the deceased in both accidents have been deposited at separate hospital morgues as police begin investigations to ascertain the exact causes of the crashes.
The tragic incidents have sparked renewed calls from road safety advocates for drivers to exercise extreme caution, particularly on highways and busy intersections, to avoid the increasing rate of fatalities on Ghana’s roads.
