Exceptional Kumawu Student Seeks Financial Support to Pursue Medicine After Achieving 8 A1s in WASSCE

A remarkable student from the Kumawu District in the Ashanti Region is appealing for financial assistance to pursue a degree in medicine after securing an outstanding 8 A1s in the 2024 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE). Marfo Elvis, who hails from a remote area in the district, is determined to fulfill his dream of becoming a medical doctor despite coming from a low-income background.

Marfo Elvis’s academic journey began with a life-changing scholarship from the Kofi Adade Assembly Member Scholarship Package, introduced by Hon. Kofi Adade, the former assembly member for the Kumawu Dadease Electoral Area. The scholarship targets brilliant students who perform exceptionally well in their Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), earning single-digit scores.

In 2021, Marfo Elvis was selected as one of the fortunate beneficiaries of this scholarship, which enabled him to study at Adisadel College in Cape Coast. Over the course of three years, Elvis proved his academic excellence, showing unparalleled dedication to his studies. His hard work culminated in the release of his WASSCE results, where he earned A1s in all eight subjects, marking a tremendous academic achievement.

Elvis’s family, along with the Kofi Adade Foundation, is now calling on the government, NGOs, and philanthropic individuals to offer the financial support needed to help him pursue his dream of studying medicine. With his outstanding performance, Elvis has demonstrated his potential and commitment to making a positive impact in the medical field, especially in underserved communities.

“The journey to becoming a doctor is a long one, but I am determined to succeed,” Marfo Elvis said, expressing his deep passion for medicine. “I know that with the right support, I can make a difference and contribute to the health and well-being of my community and beyond.”

Marfo Elvis’s journey is a source of inspiration to many students in rural and underserved regions who face financial hardships but possess remarkable academic abilities. The Kofi Adade Foundation is urging all individuals and organizations who believe in the power of education and talent to contribute towards making Elvis’s dream a reality.

A spokesperson for the Kofi Adade Foundation highlighted the importance of supporting students like Elvis, who, despite their background, have demonstrated exceptional potential. “We believe that with adequate financial backing, Marfo Elvis will go on to achieve great things. His success is not only a victory for him but a testament to the positive impact of the Kofi Adade scholarship initiative,” the spokesperson stated.

The foundation is inviting those interested in helping Marfo Elvis to contact them directly at the following numbers: 0243176589 or 0538842381. Financial contributions, mentorship, and other forms of assistance are all welcomed as the young student embarks on his medical journey.

Marfo Elvis’s case highlights the importance of providing equal opportunities to talented students from disadvantaged backgrounds. With the right financial support, he has the potential to excel in medical school and later contribute to the advancement of healthcare in Ghana and beyond.
