Encroachers On OKESS Lands Will Face My Wrath – Asantehene Warns

The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has warned against encroachment on the Osei Kyeretwie Senior High school (OKESS) lands in the Ashanti Region.

He said perpetrators will not be spared this time.

The king, who is an alumnus of the school said the negative development was adverse to the future expansion agenda of the school.

“I condemn it in no uncertain terms and strongly send a note of caution to all those involved in it to desist from it or face my wrath,” he cautioned while addressing the 85th-anniversary celebration of OKESS, in the Kumasi metropolis.

According to him, all lands in Asanteman, including that of OKESS, were vested in the custody of the Manhyia Palace, therefore, he would not countenance any form of invasion given the critical role land resources would play in the expansion agenda of the institution.

Otumfuo Osei Tutu II further assured the school of his preparedness to reconstruct a girls’ washroom which is in a deplorable state.

He also gave an unspecified amount as a donation towards the completion of the science laboratory.

He reminded the school authorities to let him know about anything that bothers the school so that he can be of help.

He charged the students to study hard to become prominent in future.

The headmaster of the school, Mr Micheal Mensah, during his speech disclosed some challenges confronting the school including furniture in a deplorable state.

He then appealed to the government, old students, and individuals to come to their aid.
