Encourage philanthropist works, stop discouraging them – Chief to Ghanaians

The chief of Besoro, a suburb of Kumawu in the Ashanti region has urged Ghanaians to stop discouraging philanthropists who go all out with their little resources to support others.

According to Nana Teng Fori Kwagyan Acheampong III, it’s very worrying how some people discourage others who try to open arms to others in a philanthropist posture.

Nana Kwagyan however pleaded with others to look into the society and extend arms to people, a move he believes can help transform the society from poverty.
“I humbly entreat other people, not necessarily deep pocketed, but a bit resourceful, to extend arms to others. We shouldn’t do those things under the command of people who always want to discourage others from doing good.
I believe we can together transform the various societies from poverty state”. He admonished.

The chief gave this advice when he presented over 200 desktop and laptop computers to the various schools within the Kumawu district of the Ashanti region.

The chief’s kind gesture which benefited over thirteen (13) schools cost him about one hundred and eighty – five thousand Ghana cedis. Speaking to this reporter on his motive, Nana Teng Fori disclosed that he considered it very prudent to furnish the schools with computers since there was the need for students to be abreast more into IT to meet current technological advancement.
He however entreated teachers and students to stick to maintenance culture so that the next generation can also benefit.

Receiving and speaking on behalf of the Kumawu district director of education, Mr. Adu Agyemang, headmaster of Bodomase D/A JHS thanked the chief for such a wonderful gesture and however promised to make sure authorities were going to seek and supervise effective usage of the computers.

The headmaster and district director’s representative entreated all school authorities and students to make sure they do not use the machines carelessly, a situation he believes cannot help sustain a maintenance culture.

Some students of the various schools who were highly enthused after receiving the computers thanked the chief for considering the welfare of pupils despite most of them were not his subjects. They however pledged to make effective use of the computers to make Nana Teng Fori very proud.
