An abandoned day-old baby girl has been found at Ejura Brigade, a suburb in the Ejura Sekyedumase Municipality of the Ashanti Region.
It is believed the mother dumped her Tuesday dawn.
Some good samaritans who first spotted the baby covered with a cloth lying on the floor with the placenta beside her informed medical staff at the Community Clinic in the area who visited the scene and attended to the innocent baby.
The baby is currently in the care of the clinic staff.
According to the Unit Committee Chairman for the Brigade area, Mr Appiah Osei, the Police had been informed about the incident.
He noted that this was the first time Brigade area had recorded such an incident which has thrown the residents into a state of shock.
