A Canoe rider has reportedly drowned in River Birim at Akyem Kukubi near Akyem Asuom in the Eastern region.

The rider, Kwadwo Ayeh, drowned three days ago but daily searches to retrieve the body have proved unsuccessful.

“Residents of Bomso and Kukubi have been searching him all day but to no avail. Libations have been poured while Christian prayers said ” a resident said

He took cash or foodstuff in return as appreciation.
