Dunkwahene expressed worry over High rate of Teenage pregnancy at tender age Upper Denkyira East Dunkwa-on-Offin

Dunkwahene in the Upper Denkyira East municipality has expressed worry over the increase of teenage pregnancies especially at the tender age in the area.
According to him, Dr. Acorlor Daniel , the Municipal Health Director in his recent report during the year under review revealed that, about twenty-five (25) young girls between Nine (9) to fourteen (14) years of age were given birth in the year under review.
He stressed that, the situation has being a worry and if not check on time and escalate where would be the future of the children who are the future of the Municipality.
Dr Acorlor l Daniel, the Dunkwa Municipal hospital recorded two teenagers between ten to fourteen years and between fifteen (15) to Nineteen (19) recorded about 152 been pregnant.
The Municipal Health Director also disclosed that, at St Mark hospital recorded two underage between the ages of ten and fourteen, Fifteen and Nineteen (19) years Sixteen (33) Opokurom recorded sixteen between fifteen to Nineteen years, Kyekywere recorded two between the ages of ten to fourteen while recorded seventy at the age between fifteen to Nineteen years.
Nana Obeng Nuakoh, urged the health directorate avail the identity of the under age girls given birth their health facilities parents to help perform the appropriate rituals for given birth under age.
He also entreated the Queen mothers in the various Communities to engage residents in their jurisdiction especially the mothers and Education them how to raise a responsible daughter and the dangers teenage pregnancies posses on their young daughters.
Speaking to the media at the palace at Dunkwa, the Dunkwahene disclosed that, most of the cases are experience at areas predominantly illegal mining going on, where the miners takes advantage of the poor girls to impregnate them at the expense of their education.
Nana Dunkwahene to the opportunity to advise the youth in the area not to allow themselves to be use by politicians before, during and after this year’s elections for their political interest.
He reminded them to think about themselves and families, assess the politicians base on performance before voting for them.
He stressed that,if one allow themselves to be deceived by a politician to formen trouble you would die and leave your family and there would no politician to take care of them. END
