Dr. Osei Yaw Adutwum: NPP’s Development Record Is Unmatched

Former Minister for Education and Member of Parliament for Bosomtwe Constituency, Dr. Osei Yaw Adutwum, has commended the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government for its impressive track record in transforming Ghana’s development landscape.

In an interview on Wontumi TV with host Oheneba, Dr. Adutwum expressed pride in the achievements of the Akufo-Addo-Bawumia administration, describing them as “unmatched in Ghana’s democratic history.” He pointed to major investments in education, healthcare, infrastructure, and social welfare as evidence of the government’s dedication to improving lives.

He emphasized the successful rollout of key policies such as the Free Senior High School programme, the construction of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) schools, major road and hospital projects under Agenda 111, and initiatives supporting vulnerable groups.

“The transformational policies and infrastructure projects we see today are because of the NPP government’s vision and commitment to the people of Ghana. Every Ghanaian, in one way or another, is benefitting from these interventions,” Dr. Adutwum stated.

He cautioned party faithfuls against dwelling on the challenges that affected the party’s fortunes in the 2024 elections, urging them instead to promote and project the success stories of the NPP.

“Our supporters must be the loudspeakers of the government’s good work. That is how we build confidence and prepare ourselves for future victories,” he advised.

Touching on speculation about his political future, Dr. Adutwum confirmed that he is in deep consultation with key stakeholders, including party executives, founding members, traditional authorities, and the clergy, regarding a potential bid for the NPP’s flagbearership position.

“I believe in broad consultation. When the time is right and after engaging the necessary stakeholders, I will officially declare my decision,” he said.

Dr. Adutwum’s comments have ignited hope among many within the NPP, with growing calls for him to consider leading the party into the future, owing to his visionary leadership and proven track record in government.

The vibrant discussion on Wontumi TV forms part of Dr. Adutwum’s broader efforts to strengthen the party’s grassroots base and renew optimism among NPP supporters ahead of the next political cycle.
