Dr. Amagashie Advises Ghanaian Men: Reconsider Bedroom Positions to Protect Your Health

Renowned herbal health practitioner and head of Amagashie Herbal Centre, Dr. Apostle Samuel Amagashie, has sounded a passionate call to Ghanaian men to pay closer attention to their health—starting from the most private corners of their lives.

In a recent media interview, Dr. Amagashie issued a surprising but critical health advisory: men should reconsider the sexual positions they frequently use during intimacy, particularly warning against the commonly practiced “doggy style” position. He emphasized that while sex is a natural and healthy part of life, the manner in which it is practiced can have lasting effects on a man’s physical well-being.

“Men should consider changing their sexual positions, especially the doggy style, as it puts them at higher risk of suffering a stroke,” he said, expressing concern over how overlooked this danger is among many Ghanaian men. According to him, this particular position exerts excessive strain on the heart and circulatory system, particularly during the peak of physical activity.

Dr. Amagashie noted that the problem is even more pronounced among men who are unaware of their underlying health conditions, such as high blood pressure, cardiovascular complications, or fragile blood vessels. He warned that strokes could occur suddenly and without warning when blood flow to the brain is disrupted during intense physical exertion—such as what may happen in overly demanding sexual postures.

He explained that in the doggy style position, the angle, speed, and pressure can rapidly increase blood pressure levels, thereby triggering a stroke in vulnerable individuals. “It’s not just about pleasure,” he said. “You must also think of pressure—especially the pressure your heart is enduring.”

While some may view his comments as unconventional, Dr. Amagashie believes public health education should include such topics to help demystify taboo subjects and prevent avoidable medical emergencies. He believes Ghanaian men, especially those above 35, need to take such warnings seriously.

The herbal doctor was quick to clarify that he is not advising against sex but rather advocating for moderation and wisdom in how it is practiced. “Sex is healthy, and I encourage it. In fact, frequent lovemaking can help regulate hormones, improve mental health, and even boost immunity. But you must do it in a way that promotes your well-being, not endangers it,” he advised.

As part of his recommendations, Dr. Amagashie urged men to go for regular medical or herbal check-ups, monitor their blood pressure, and avoid risky behaviors during intimacy. He also advised against excessive use of sexual enhancement products, especially those not prescribed by a qualified professional, as they can exacerbate heart-related issues.

He concluded by calling on health institutions and media platforms to normalize conversations around sexual health, saying that silence and stigma often cause more harm than good.

The health warning from Dr. Amagashie comes at a time when stroke cases among middle-aged men are reportedly on the rise in Ghana. His message adds a new perspective to the broader discussions on preventive health care and offers a timely reminder that even in the bedroom, safety should never be ignored.
