MTN Ghana has officially launched DigiFest 2025, a month-long digital festival that underscores the company’s ambition to transform Ghana into a fully digital society. The festival is a showcase of innovation, creativity, and opportunity, reflecting MTN’s commitment to building an inclusive future powered by technology.
The launch event, held in Accra, brought together government officials, industry leaders, partners, innovators, and technology enthusiasts to celebrate the strides MTN has made in digital innovation. It was also a platform for unveiling a range of digital products and experiences designed to engage and empower customers.
In his keynote address, Stephen Blewett, Chief Executive Officer of MTN Ghana, said DigiFest represents both a celebration of MTN’s achievements and a bold step toward a future where digital access and innovation are central to everyday life. He emphasized that MTN is redefining itself not merely as a telecommunications provider but as a digital company that enables people to live, work, and thrive in an increasingly connected world. According to him, MTN has invested over one billion dollars in Ghana’s digital infrastructure in the past five years, with an additional two hundred and forty million dollars committed this year alone to support further expansion. He added that initiatives such as the twenty-five million-dollar ICT Hub and the MTN Digital Skills Academy highlight the company’s focus on preparing the next generation of innovators for a digital future.

Ibrahim Misto, Chief Digital Officer of MTN Ghana, also addressed the gathering, stressing the transformative impact of artificial intelligence and emerging technologies. He noted that AI is redefining industries, reshaping markets, and altering the skill sets required for success. He further explained that mobile gaming has evolved from simple entertainment into a global platform for creativity, entrepreneurship, and competition, opening new doors of opportunity for Ghanaian youth. According to him, MTN’s digital ecosystem is equipping young people with tools to innovate, connect, and compete at an international level.
DigiFest 2025 is designed as a vibrant mix of education, innovation, and entertainment. Participants will experience a wide array of engaging activities, from hackathons and live app demonstrations to interactive AI sessions and digital learning opportunities. The festival also features experiential booths, gaming stations, Spin the Wheel engagements, and weekly tech quizzes with exciting rewards. Technology partners including Samsung, Huawei, Unotelos, Abena AI, and Smart Home solutions are showcasing their latest innovations, creating a dynamic environment that blends fun with discovery.

The festival reflects MTN’s Ambition 2025 strategy, which focuses on leading digital solutions for Africa’s progress. By driving digital inclusion, investing in cutting-edge infrastructure, and empowering individuals with new skills, MTN Ghana is positioning itself as a catalyst for a bold, inclusive, and digitally empowered future. DigiFest 2025, therefore, stands not only as a celebration of innovation but also as a declaration of MTN’s vision to lead Ghana into a fully digital era where technology connects, transforms, and creates opportunity for all.
