DCE Pledges to Fix Adankwame-Ntensere Road

The Adankwame-Ntensere road, located in the Atwima Nwabiagya North district of the Ashanti Region, is not just a major challenge but a priority for residents who use the road daily for business, accessing health services, and going to school.
For decades, this stretch of road, which serves several communities and connects the Kumasi-Barekese to Kumasi-Sunyani and Goaso trunk roads, has been in a sorry state and a nightmare for residents and local leaders.
Communities such as Adankwame, Esaaso, Kapro, Pasro, Sokwai, and Akwaboa, among others, are growing in population due to their proximity to Kumasi.
The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Atwima Nwabiagya North District, Hon. Mba Zechariah Alenbilla, has pledged to show exemplary leadership by completing the Adankwame-Ntensere road.
“I used the Adankwame-Ntensere deplorable road for campaigning when I ran for MP in the Atwima Nwabiagya North Constituency on the NDC ticket,” he stated.
He assured voters that he would ensure the construction of the deplorable road and others when given the mandate to represent the people in parliament.
Although he did not win the MP seat, he assured he remains committed to seeing the Adankwame-Ntensere road done to perfection as the DCE.
The DCE reaffirmed his desire to see the road completed when he met with Barekesehene, Nana Amoapem Brenya, and elders at his residence in Barekese on Friday, July 11, 2025.
“As you can all attest, work on the road is progressing at a fast pace, and soon it will be motorable,” he told them.
Barekesehene commended the DCE for his all-inclusive governance and cautioned him against ‘political talk’.
“There’s political thought and political talk. Many times, the thoughts result in political talk. Because politicians have ambitions to do more, and when they’re unable to achieve those, it becomes political talk without substance,” Nana Brenya expressed.
He urged the DCE to lead by example and prioritize the development of Barekese, the district capital.
