DCE Appiah-Kubi Unveils New Teachers’ Quarters, NHIS Office and Agric Office in Bosome Freho

The Bosome Freho District has witnessed a remarkable boost in its infrastructural development following the commissioning of three major projects by the District Chief Executive (DCE), Hon. Charles Appiah-Kubi. The newly completed facilities — teachers’ residential quarters at Adeito, and office complexes for the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) and the Department of Agriculture at Asiwa — were officially unveiled on Wednesday, November 27, 2025.

The commissioning ceremonies, held separately at Adeito and Asiwa, drew together traditional authorities, community members, public servants, and officials from the Education Directorate, NHIS, and the Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MOFA). The gatherings reinforced the Assembly’s commitment to strengthening social services and enhancing community development across the district.

At Adeito, Hon. Appiah-Kubi inaugurated a four-unit single-room residential accommodation for teachers, describing it as a strategic investment aimed at addressing the long-standing challenge of teacher shortages in rural communities. He explained that the availability of decent accommodation is a major factor in attracting and retaining teachers, and expressed confidence that the facility would significantly improve teaching and learning outcomes in the area.

The DCE urged teachers assigned to the community to make the most of the opportunity by demonstrating professionalism, dedication, and improved service delivery in their classrooms. He assured them that the Assembly, together with the District Education Directorate, would continue to work towards increasing the number of teachers posted to the district, especially in communities facing low teacher enrollment.

At Asiwa, the district capital, Hon. Appiah-Kubi commissioned two additional projects — a National Health Insurance Authority office and a Department of Agriculture office — both designed to improve administrative efficiency and service accessibility. He noted that the NHIS office would bring essential health insurance services closer to residents, reducing the burden of travelling long distances for registration, renewals, and claims processing.

Similarly, the new Agric office is expected to strengthen agricultural extension services, support farmers with timely advice, and promote modern farming practices. The DCE emphasized the vital role agriculture plays in the district’s development and encouraged MOFA staff to work closely with farmers to enhance productivity and food security.

In a speech delivered at a durbar of chiefs and residents, Hon. Appiah-Kubi called for regular maintenance of all three newly commissioned facilities, stressing that community ownership and responsibility are critical to sustaining the benefits of government investment. He appealed to traditional leaders and opinion leaders to help protect the facilities from misuse, neglect, and vandalism.

He further assured NHIS staff, MOFA officers, and teachers across the district of the government’s commitment to improving their welfare and ensuring that their work environments remain conducive to effective service delivery.

Traditional authorities and community stakeholders expressed gratitude to the Bosome Freho District Assembly for responding to pressing developmental needs. They pledged their support in safeguarding the newly completed facilities and working closely with the Assembly on future initiatives.

The commissioning of the three projects marks a significant milestone in the district’s development agenda and reinforces the Assembly’s resolve to expand infrastructure that improves education, healthcare, and agricultural services for the benefit of all residents.
