DCE Abubakar Sedik Engages Cleaning Staff to Champion Sanitation and Development Agenda in Ahafo Ano South West

In line with his commitment to running an all-inclusive and open-door administration, the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Ahafo Ano South West, Hon. Abubakar Sedik, on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, held a strategic engagement with the cleaning staff of the District Assembly at his office in Mankranso.
The meeting, which forms part of the DCE’s broader stakeholder engagement efforts, was aimed at motivating the Assembly’s sanitation workforce and fostering a renewed sense of dedication and responsibility among them.
Addressing the staff, Hon. Abubakar Sedik emphasized the critical role cleaning personnel play in the development and image of the district. He noted that cleanliness is fundamental to public health, community development, and investor confidence. He therefore encouraged the staff to adopt a more proactive and disciplined attitude towards their duties.
“You are the backbone of the Assembly’s sanitation drive. Without your consistent effort and commitment, it would be difficult to achieve our development objectives. I urge you to take your work seriously and be proud of the impact you make in building a healthier, cleaner Ahafo Ano South West,” the DCE stated.
He further urged the cleaning staff to align themselves with his vision for a well-managed, clean, and progressive district. He assured them that under his leadership, no staff member will be left behind, and everyone will have a voice in the development process.
The cleaning staff, visibly encouraged by the DCE’s engagement, expressed their appreciation for the opportunity to meet with him and for recognizing their contributions. They pledged their unflinching support to help the Assembly realize its developmental goals.
“We are grateful for your recognition and encouragement. It means a lot to us as cleaning staff. We promise to give our best and support your vision to make the district a model of cleanliness and development,” a representative of the staff stated.
In addition to addressing the Assembly’s cleaning staff, Hon. Abubakar Sedik also used the opportunity to call on Zoomlion workers operating in the district to intensify their efforts in cleaning the various market centers and communities, including the district capital Mankranso.
He appealed to all sanitation workers to treat their duties as a civic responsibility and join hands with the Assembly to rid the district of filth and prevent the outbreak of sanitation-related diseases.
“This is not a job for a few individuals — it is a collective responsibility. I am counting on Zoomlion and all sanitation actors to help us keep our markets, towns, and villages clean. Let’s work together for a healthier and safer Ahafo Ano South West,” he added.
Hon. Abubakar Sedik reaffirmed his commitment to continue engaging all staff categories and community stakeholders to ensure inclusivity, motivation, and accountability in the governance process.
His leadership approach has been widely praised as pragmatic and people-centered, earning him growing support from various segments of the district.
