The lives of the people that stay at Elubo are currently at risk, because some people are now undertaking illegal mining (Galamsey) in their houses and homes. Elubo is a community in the Western North Region.
According to the person talking in the video on UTV, the people of the community have reported this life threatening issue to several people in authority in their region but nothing has been done about it.
In the video that was telecasted by UTV, large holes, pits, and several heaps of clay sand were seen in the Elubo community. There were several holes that were dug under various houses. Open mining were also practiced between houses, in compound houses and the back of houses in the community.
The video clearly shows that, the lives of the residents of the Elubo community or township are at risk and if nothing is done about it, several people might lose their lives. A community member who was reporting the situation revealed that, last year a child who feel into one of the pits lost his life and nothing was done about it.
It was also seen that, some houses in the community were cracked as a result of the mining activities in the community.
