Dɛɛdɛw Foundation Hands Over Modern 5-Unit Classroom Block to Atwima Manhyia Methodist Primary School

In a heartwarming show of community support and commitment to education, Dɛɛdɛw Foundation, a philanthropic organization based in Kumasi, has officially commissioned a modern five-unit classroom block for the Atwima Manhyia Methodist Primary School, located in the Atwima Nwabiagya Municipality of the Ashanti Region.

The newly constructed facility, described as ultramodern and learner-friendly, is aimed at reducing overcrowding in classrooms and providing a more conducive environment for effective teaching and learning. The initiative comes at a time when many public basic schools across the country face infrastructural challenges that hinder academic performance and student development.

Founder of the Foundation, Mr. Kingsley Owusu — affectionately known as Dɛɛdɛw — personally led the commissioning ceremony and handed over the keys to school authorities. In his remarks, he said the project was born out of a deep sense of civic duty and a desire to support the future of Ghana through education. He emphasized that while the government continues to do its part, individuals must also step up to help fill critical gaps in sectors like education.

“Education is one of the most powerful tools we can give to children,” he noted. “If we want to secure the future of our communities and country, then we must be willing to invest in their education. This classroom block is my small way of giving back and ensuring that these pupils have the right environment to learn and thrive.”

He further urged school management and teachers to take proper care of the new facility, stressing that maintenance is key to ensuring the building serves its intended purpose for years to come.

The Municipal Chief Executive for Atwima Nwabiagya, Hon. Wisdom Boamah, who was present at the event, lauded the efforts of Mr. Owusu and the Dɛɛdɛw Foundation. He expressed his deep appreciation for the Foundation’s investment in the future of children in the municipality and encouraged other well-meaning citizens to follow suit.

Hon. Boamah also used the opportunity to outline some of his administration’s key development goals, including improvements in road infrastructure and solutions to ongoing sanitation issues. He called on all residents, particularly natives of the area, to support the municipality’s development agenda in any way they can.

The ceremony ended with cultural performances by students and a tour of the new facility, leaving the community beaming with pride and gratitude for what many described as a transformational intervention in the local education landscape.
