Court Battle Sparks Fear Among Pastors: “Preaching Truth Now Comes With Arrest”

A growing sense of unease is spreading among some Christian leaders in Ghana, as they express concern over increasing incidents of sabotage and intimidation from within the faith.

According to several pastors, these acts, often led by influential and wealthy figures within the church, are discouraging genuine men of God from boldly preaching the gospel and holding their fellow ministers accountable.

This issue came to light during a show of solidarity when a group of pastors rallied behind Pastor Emmanuel Boakye, who is currently facing legal action from Prophet Stephen Adom Kyei Duah of the Christ Believers Worship Center.

Pastor Boakye is accused of publicly criticising Prophet Adom Kyei Duah on social media following a video in which the latter allegedly stated he would “collapse all churches in Ghana.”

Pastor Boakye reportedly condemned the comment, describing it as “the preaching of anti-Christ.”

The matter is now before the Akropong Circuit Court, with the next hearing scheduled for June 18, 2025.

Speaking during the gathering, Apostle Stephen Opoku Adams, General Overseer of the Precious Land of Goshen, advised Ghanaians to be vigilant about the ministers they follow.

“Although many pastors mention the name of Jesus, not all truly worship Him. People must investigate and see whether Jesus is genuinely the pillar of their worship,” he urged. “This will help prevent them from worshipping in anti-Christ churches.”

Apostle Adams also lamented the rising trend of godly men abandoning their divine calling due to persecution from within the church. “Some pastors have left the work of God to pursue other businesses because they don’t understand why they should suffer at the hands of their fellow ministers,” he added.

Prophet Kwame Amo, General Overseer of Christ Fellowship Church, who was also present, expressed disappointment over the legal action.

“Even Jesus Christ faced opposition from the Jews, yet He continued. If Prophet Adom Kyei Duah will arrest any pastor who criticizes him, then he should get ready to arrest all of us, because we won’t sit down and watch him make fun of Jesus,” he stated firmly.

The incident has ignited debate across Christian circles in Ghana, with many calling for unity and humility among church leaders to protect the integrity of the gospel.
