The National president of Bissa development association (BDA) Alhaji lawyer Saibu Musah Gutare has expressed deep worry about the rising situation of bawku ethnic conflicts.
According to him various factions escalated the conflict to highway attacks within and beyond bawku.
In the month of December alone, one Bissa woman who was returning to accra after attending a funeral in bugri was killed while three 3 bissa men were admitted at Bolgatanga regional hospital for various fractures on their legs from gun shots in such attacks he added.
Lawyer Saibu Musah Gutare continues that Nine women were ambushed and killed at pusiga in September 2023 despite having police escorts.
He said similar attacks were reported at walewale and other areas,all in the name of bawku ethnic conflict.
The conflict has assumed a national dimension and there fore,a national strategies must be deployed to deal with the menace .
He made this statement at Bissa Sukuma festival 2023 at jubilee park in Kumasi.

Another subject of important to Bissa community is the infamous missing of seven people from the Bissa belt in bawku travelled to kenyare in the Bittou District of Burkina Faso to trace their cattle, reports indicate that,they were arrested by security forces in Burkina since October 13 . He lamented.
According to him it is sad to note that these persons have since not been heard from.
