Former majority leader and member of Parliament for Zebilla Cletus Apul Avoka has represented the area since 1992. He was their law maker in 1992, 1996, 2000 and lost to the late John Ndebugri in 2004.
He returned in 2008 when lawyer Ndebugri switched from PNC to contest on the ticket of NPP. Mr Avoka continued to represent the area until 2016 again where he lost to Mr Adongo of NPP and returned to capture power again in 2020.
Earlier this year, Mr Avoka announced retirement from parliament. In this case, the NDC fraternity in Zebilla need to get a qualified person for replacement.
Speaking to inners, they indicated that Lawyer Ziryerley Agbambilla is up and ready for the baton. They described him as young, brilliant and selfless who can serve the people of Bawku West and maintain the legacies of John Ndebugri, Cletus Avoka and others.
The NDC parliamentary and Presidential primaries is slated for March 2023 where lawyer Agbambilla is expected to be confirmed as the parliamentary candidate of the NDC for Zebilla constituency.
