Churches Rally Behind Atwima Nwabiagya South MP as She Commits Her Leadership to God
The Member of Parliament for Atwima Nwabiagya South, Hon. Shirley Kyei, on Sunday, January 4, 2026, received strong spiritual support from churches across her constituency as she embarked on a thanksgiving and prayer tour to commit her leadership and parliamentary duties to God.
The visit formed part of the MP’s efforts to begin the year by acknowledging God’s guidance, protection, and mercies since she assumed office. Hon. Shirley Kyei praised God for the lives of her constituents, party executives, and all supporters who have stood by her throughout her tenure as Member of Parliament.

At the Christ Apostolic Church International (CACI), Nkawie Central, the MP expressed deep appreciation to the church leadership and congregants for their endorsement and prayers during the last general elections. She acknowledged the crucial role faith-based institutions play in promoting peace, unity, and responsible leadership in society.
Reflecting on the outcome of the 2024 general elections, Hon. Shirley Kyei stated that although she had hoped the New Patriotic Party (NPP) would retain power, the results did not favour the party. She nevertheless urged constituents to remain resolute and supportive, expressing optimism that the NPP would return to power in the 2028 general elections with the backing of the people and continuous prayers.
The MP further called on residents of Atwima Nwabiagya South to continue supporting her leadership, assuring them of her commitment to serve diligently, advocate for development, and represent the interests of the constituency effectively in Parliament.

The Circuit Pastor of the church, Reverend Humphrey Assafuah, led the congregation in special prayers for the MP, constituency executives, and party faithful. The prayers focused on divine wisdom, guidance, protection, and strength to enable Hon. Shirley Kyei to excel in her legislative responsibilities.
The church service concluded with words of encouragement and a pledge of sustained spiritual support, as the churches reaffirmed their commitment to praying for peace, unity, and development in Atwima Nwabiagya South.
