Church of Pentecost Women’s Fellowship Honors Atebubu Midwives with Donations for Lifesaving Work

The Women’s Fellowship of the Church of Pentecost, Atebubu Ahenfie Assembly, has commended midwives at the Atebubu Government Hospital for their relentless dedication to maternal healthcare, describing their work as heroic and worthy of national recognition.
This commendation was made during a special donation ceremony organized by the Fellowship to honor the staff of the maternity ward for their continued sacrifices to ensure safe childbirth and reduce maternal and infant mortality in the area.
Addressing the midwives, the leader of the Women’s Fellowship, Mrs. Abigail Kyei Boakye, said the gesture was a demonstration of love and appreciation rooted in Christian values. She emphasized that the church has a responsibility not only to preach the gospel but also to respond to the needs of the community through acts of kindness and support.
“We are here today to thank you for your service. Every life you help bring safely into this world is a testimony of your selflessness, compassion, and dedication. We believe that your work is a reflection of God’s love, and we are here to celebrate you,” Mrs. Boakye stated passionately.
The Fellowship presented assorted items to the maternity ward to aid in the care of newborns and mothers. The items included boxes of detergents, baby diapers, gallons of liquid soap, and surface wet wipes — all meant to help maintain hygiene and support the wellbeing of patients.
Receiving the donation on behalf of the hospital, Madam Ofori Asare Abigail, a senior midwife, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Church of Pentecost and the Women’s Fellowship for their timely and thoughtful support. She noted that the items would be put to good use, especially in addressing some of the daily challenges faced by the maternity ward.
“These items have come at a time we needed them most. It shows that our efforts are not going unnoticed, and we are truly touched by your kindness. We promise to use them for their intended purpose to benefit both mothers and babies,” Madam Asare said.
She also used the opportunity to call on other religious and community-based organizations to emulate the example set by the Church of Pentecost, emphasizing the importance of community collaboration in improving healthcare delivery.
The ceremony concluded with songs of praise, words of encouragement, and prayers offered for the health workers, patients, and the entire hospital administration.
The Church of Pentecost continues to play a pivotal role in community development, with its various ministries contributing to healthcare, education, and social welfare across the country. This latest gesture by the Atebubu Ahenfie Women’s Fellowship is a testament to the church’s enduring commitment to service and nation-building.
