Christian Journalists Association Honors Nana Owusu Group of Companies for Outstanding Environmental Reclamation

 

The Christian Journalists Association (CJA) has held its maiden Ashanti Regional Conference in Kumasi, where it recognized Divine Nana Owusu Group of Companies as the Best Reclamation Company for its outstanding efforts in addressing the environmental damage caused by illegal mining (galamsey).

The event, aimed at unveiling the goals of the association, highlighted the critical role of ethical journalism in promoting national development. The award to Divine Nana Owusu Group of Companies was the highlight of the day, acknowledging its dedication to reclaiming degraded lands and restoring Ghana’s natural ecosystems.

The National President of the Christian Journalists Association, Mr. Armstrong Kusi Oduodum, popularly known in media circles as Evangelist Obour, praised the company for its immense contributions to environmental sustainability and youth empowerment.

“Divine Nana Owusu Group of Companies has set a remarkable example in reclaiming abandoned mining pits and turning them into productive lands. Beyond that, they are training young men and women across the country, equipping them with skills to build a better future. Their work is a vital contribution to national development,” he stated during the awards presentation.

Receiving the award on behalf of the company’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Richmond Affadu Danful, Secretary of Divine Nana Owusu Group of Companies, expressed gratitude for the recognition.

“We are deeply honored by this award from the Christian Journalists Association. It motivates us to continue our mission of reclaiming degraded lands and empowering the youth with skills to contribute meaningfully to Ghana’s development. This recognition reinforces our commitment to making a difference,” Mr. Danful said in an interview.

The conference brought together journalists, media practitioners, and key stakeholders, emphasizing the importance of faith-based values in addressing critical societal issues. It also highlighted the role of media in influencing positive change and supporting national development initiatives.
