Mary Yeboah, 37, a local chop bar operator at Nkurakan in the Yilo Krobo Municipality of the Eastern Region, was arrested by the Nkurakan Police.
The accused, as well as other goat thieves, were paraded around town with their stolen animals.
As the community marched through the streets of Nkurakan, the suspects, including local chop bar operator Mary Yeboah, were booed and despised.
The Dademankye, Emmanuel Narh, and the residents successfully apprehend Mary Yeboah for allegedly purchasing stolen goats to prepare local dishes in Nkurakan.
The community forced the suspected thieves to carry the dead goats on their heads as they walked down the street.
The suspects arrested by Nkurakan Police were immediately transferred to the Koforidua Central Police Commander for further investigation and prosecution.
Residents are outraged by the high rate of theft and crime in Nkurakan and have petitioned the Police Commander in the Eastern Region to send more men to the town to restore peace.
