Chirapatrehene, Nkosuohene Lead Clean-Up Exercise, Honor Widows, and Crown Fabi Boys as Gala Champions

The community of Chirapatre celebrated Boxing Day with a blend of civic duty, philanthropy, and sporting excellence.

The Chief of Chirapatre, Nana Offe Kusi Wiredu II, accompanied by the Nkosuohene, Nana Ankoma Nyame, and several sub-chiefs including some royals from the Manhyia Palace, spearheaded a massive clean-up exercise to revitalize the local environment.

Service and Compassion:

Guided by the rhythmic sounds of a brass band, the traditional leadership joined the youth in a coordinated effort to clear weeds and debris.

The exercise spanned from the Chirapatre Roman Catholic Church to the main cemetery road, with the Fire Service providing essential support to ensure the streets and gutters were thoroughly cleared.

Beyond the physical labor, the Chief and his elders visited the homes of elderly and frail residents, offering words of encouragement and personal check-ins.

Supporting the Vulnerable:

Following the clean-up, Nana Offe Kusi Wiredu II sat in state at his palace to host over 100 widows and elderly citizens.

In a heartwarming gesture of festive spirit, each attendee was presented with a bag of rice, a live chicken, and high-quality wax prints to ensure they could celebrate the season with dignity and joy.

Christmas Football Gala:

The afternoon transitioned into high-energy competition as four teams—Chirapatre, Fabi, Davita School Complex, and DBS Industries battled for the community football title.

Semi-Final 1:

Fabi secured their place in the final by defeating the Chirapatre Youth team 3–1 on penalties.

Semi-Final 2:

Davita School Complex narrowly edged out DBS Industries in a thrilling 6–5 penalty shootout.

The Grand Finale:

In a dominant performance, Fabi Boys emerged as the undisputed champions, defeating Davita School Complex with a convincing 3–0 victory.

Leadership and Counsel:

Addressing the media, Nana Offe Kusi Wiredu II emphasized the importance of communal labor and collective responsibility.

“I urge all residents and natives living abroad to support the developmental efforts of my administration,” the Chief stated.

He added that, “By working alongside the Nkosuohene and sub-chiefs, we can sustain laudable initiatives that empower our youth and support our widows.”

The Nkosuohene, Nana Ankoma Nyame, lauded the Chief’s proactive leadership while offering a stern piece of advice to the younger generation.

He cautioned them against “waywardness and promiscuity,” noting that “the devil finds work for idle hands.”

He encouraged the youth to seek meaningful employment and strive for self-sufficiency.

Nana Nyame concluded by expressing profound gratitude to Davita School Complex and DBS Industries for their generous sponsorship, which made the festive celebrations a reality for the people of Chirapatre.
