Tensions erupted in Antoa as Nana Afriyie, a member of the royal family, was reportedly subjected to a brutal assault by a group of men allegedly acting on the orders of one Akwesi Afrifa. The incident occurred during an event to introduce a new chief to the community.
According to eyewitness accounts, Nana Afriyie was about to ask a question when Afrifa allegedly grabbed her and commanded about 15 men to attack her. Shockingly, uniformed police officers who were present at the scene reportedly did nothing to stop the assault.
Following the incident, the victim confronted the police about their inaction, only to be told that they were there to protect the individual who had requested their presence, not her.
Nana Afriyie, who sustained serious injuries, has since expressed fear for her life, stating that she remains in critical condition due to the severity of the attack.
Despite growing concerns and public outrage, authorities have yet to respond to the incident.
