MTN Ghana has announced a landmark investment plan of over $300 million for 2026, following its recognition as the overall winner of the MTN Group’s 2025 Million Dollar Challenge. The pledge, made by Chief Executive Officer Stephen Blewett, underscores the company’s commitment to expanding network coverage, enhancing digital services, and driving fintech innovation nationwide.

Speaking at the maiden edition of the MTN Bright Conversation, Mr. Blewett described the award, presented at the MTN Global Leadership Gathering 2026, as a significant affirmation of MTN Ghana’s operational excellence and customer-centric strategy.

“It is always rewarding to lead a successful organisation, but the real strength of MTN Ghana lies in the passionate and committed people behind the brand,” Mr. Blewett said. He noted that the accolade was earned through outstanding performance across key areas, including network expansion, data innovation, customer experience, and mobile money services.

The CEO emphasised that achieving strong results across all business units in the same year is a rare feat, reflecting the company’s broad-based excellence and consistent execution.

Looking ahead, MTN Ghana’s $300 million investment plan will leverage improved macroeconomic stability in Ghana. Mr. Blewett highlighted that a stable economic environment, coupled with exchange rate stability, provides the confidence required for long-term capital investment and allows the company to procure advanced equipment to strengthen network capacity nationwide.

As part of its 2026 strategy, MTN Ghana intends to accelerate network rollout in peri-urban and rural communities, expand digital self-service options through the MyMTN platform, and bolster support for small and medium-sized enterprises engaged in the digital economy.

“Our focus for the year will centre on innovation and delivering technology-driven solutions that enhance customer experience while contributing to Ghana’s digital transformation,” Mr. Blewett said. He expressed optimism about MTN Ghana’s role as a leader in the telecommunications sector, aiming to provide meaningful benefits to customers across the country.

The investment announcement reinforces MTN Ghana’s dedication to supporting national digital advancement, ensuring that high-quality telecommunications and fintech services are accessible and reliable for all Ghanaians.
