Boy, 17, escapes lynching after allegedly stealing from a shop

Kofi Saah, 17, escaped lynching after allegedly attempting to steal a refrigerator from a shop in Mankessimin, Central Region.

Kofi Saah allegedly entered the shop, but luck was against him and he was apprehended.

After he was apprehended, the residents stated that they were not willing to send him to the police station.

Oheneba Nyamedo Kwame Addex, reporting from the scene, said the workers in the shop had complained about several items missing from their shop.

He was caught in the act with the refrigerator’s motor and other items.

He had already stolen the phone and demanded payment from the family.

His family advised him to stop his behaviour, but the next day he allegedly stole from the shop.

According to the reporter, the young boy was arrested but escaped from police custody.

He has since been re-arrested and is being held in Police custody
