Bosome Freho DCE Commissions Major Community Projects, Pledges Continued Development Support

The Bosome Freho District Assembly has strengthened its commitment to improving infrastructure and essential services with the commissioning of three major development projects at Adeito and Asiwa. The District Chief Executive (DCE), Hon. Charles Appiah-Kubi, led the commissioning ceremonies on Wednesday, November 27, 2025, marking a significant step toward enhancing education, healthcare, and agricultural services across the district.
The newly completed projects include a four-unit single-room residential accommodation for teachers at Adeito, a National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) office, and a Department of Agriculture office, both located in Asiwa, the district capital. These facilities were officially handed over to their respective beneficiary institutions during separate ceremonies that drew traditional leaders, community members, government officials, and staff of the various departments.
Speaking at a durbar held in honour of the commissioning, Hon. Appiah-Kubi emphasized that the projects reflect the Assembly’s broader mission to support sustainable development and improve living standards in all communities within the district. He noted that the investments demonstrate government’s commitment to delivering infrastructure that directly enhances public service delivery.
At Adeito, the DCE highlighted the new teachers’ quarters as a crucial intervention aimed at addressing teacher shortages in the area. He explained that the lack of proper accommodation has long discouraged teachers from accepting postings to rural communities, thereby affecting academic performance. With the new facility in place, he expressed optimism that more teachers would be willing to serve in Adeito and nearby communities to improve the quality of education.

Hon. Appiah-Kubi also used the platform to assure parents, school authorities, and residents that the Assembly would continue to collaborate with the District Education Directorate to address the issue of low teacher enrollment. He encouraged the community to support the teachers and create a welcoming environment that motivates them to deliver their best.
At Asiwa, where the NHIA and Agric offices were commissioned, the DCE reiterated the Assembly’s commitment to strengthening key social service institutions. He stated that the new NHIA building would significantly ease access to health insurance services, allowing residents to register, renew memberships, and process claims without travelling long distances. This, he said, would ultimately improve healthcare access and reduce financial barriers to medical services.

The newly constructed Agric office, he added, would enhance service delivery for farmers across the district. By providing a modern workspace for agricultural officers, the facility is expected to promote timely extension services, support farmers with technical guidance, and facilitate programmes aimed at boosting productivity and food security.
Throughout his remarks, Hon. Appiah-Kubi stressed the critical need for regular maintenance of all three projects. He called on the beneficiaries and community members to foster a sense of ownership, cautioning that without proper upkeep, the gains made through government investment could be undermined. He further appealed to traditional authorities to assist in safeguarding the facilities and ensuring they serve the district for many years.
The DCE reaffirmed the government’s commitment to improving the welfare of teachers, NHIA staff, and MOFA officers, assuring them that their concerns and needs remain a priority as the Assembly rolls out additional development projects.
Traditional leaders, community stakeholders, and departmental staff expressed their appreciation to the Assembly for addressing key infrastructural gaps. They pledged their cooperation to ensure that the newly commissioned facilities are properly maintained and used to advance the development of the district.
The Bosome Freho District Assembly says it remains committed to pursuing more transformative initiatives that will enhance the well-being of residents, promote effective service delivery, and drive sustainable development across the district.
