Bosome Freho DCE Appeals for Additional Senior High School, Urges Completion of E-Block Project Initiated by President Mahama

The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Bosome Freho, Hon. Charles Appiah Kubi, has appealed to the government under the leadership of President John Dramani Mahama to prioritize the completion of an abandoned E-Block school project in the district to help expand access to secondary education.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with the media at his office in Asiwa, the DCE stressed that Bosome Freho District currently has only one senior high school serving the entire constituency — a situation he described as inadequate, considering the growing number of junior high school graduates in the area. “Bosome Freho has just one senior high school serving thousands of students across the district. The pressure on that school is overwhelming. We urgently need an additional senior high school to absorb the increasing number of JHS graduates who qualify for SHS but cannot gain admission due to limited space,” he stated.

Hon. Appiah Kubi noted that the solution to this challenge lies in the swift completion of the E-Block project initiated by President Mahama during his first term in office. According to him, the project, which was started several years ago, remains uncompleted and abandoned — denying the district a vital educational resource. “President John Dramani Mahama, during his first term, started an E-Block here in Bosome Freho, but sadly it’s still not completed. I am appealing to him, now as the current President of Ghana, to ensure this project is revived and completed. Once finished, it can serve as a full senior high school and drastically reduce the burden on our only existing SHS,” he said.

The DCE emphasized that completing the E-Block will not only provide a second public senior high school for the district but will also help in absorbing more students who are currently left behind due to limited infrastructure. He described the E-Block as a state-of-the-art facility designed to include classrooms, laboratories, ICT centres, and other modern learning amenities that will enhance quality education delivery. “If this E-Block is completed, it will immediately become an additional senior high school for the Bosome Freho District. It will open doors for hundreds of students and help us produce a more educated and skilled youth population,” he added.

Hon. Appiah Kubi assured residents that the District Assembly stands ready to collaborate with the Ministry of Education and other relevant authorities to provide the needed support for the completion and operationalization of the E-Block facility.

Community members, teachers, and traditional leaders in the area have also thrown their support behind the DCE’s appeal, urging President Mahama’s administration to fulfill the promise of expanding educational infrastructure to underserved districts like Bosome Freho.
