Bosome Freho Begins Construction of Two CHPS Compounds and New School Blocks

The Bosome Freho District Assembly has commenced construction of key social infrastructure with the start of works on two Community Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compounds and new school blocks aimed at improving healthcare delivery and educational outcomes in the district.

The projects were officially launched at a sod-cutting ceremony led by the District Chief Executive, Mr. Charles Appiah-Kubi, who underscored the Assembly’s commitment to expanding access to essential services, particularly in rural and underserved communities.

The initiatives involve the construction of CHPS compounds at Nsese and Korchikrom to strengthen primary healthcare at the community level, a new kindergarten block at Mamfi to enhance early childhood education, and a three-unit classroom block at Fereso to address infrastructure deficits in basic education.

Addressing residents at the ceremony, Mr. Appiah-Kubi appealed for strong community support to ensure the smooth execution of the projects within the stipulated eight-month completion period. He warned against vandalism and theft of construction materials, urging residents to take collective responsibility for protecting the project sites.

The District Chief Executive further called on the contractors to prioritise the engagement of local artisans and labourers, noting that the construction works present an opportunity to create temporary employment and stimulate local economic activity.

Traditional leaders from the beneficiary communities expressed appreciation to the government and the District Assembly for responding to their long-standing infrastructural needs. They noted that the new health facilities will bring healthcare closer to the people, while the additional classroom and kindergarten blocks will improve teaching and learning conditions for schoolchildren.

The event attracted district assembly members, traditional authorities, community leaders and other stakeholders, who pledged their support to ensure the projects are completed on schedule and to the required standards.

When completed, the projects are expected to significantly enhance access to quality healthcare and education, and contribute to improved living standards and socio-economic development in the Bosome Freho District.
