Bawumia Possesses the Character Required for the Presidency — Kwadwo Baah Agyemang Asserts.

Hon. Kwadwo Baah Agyemang, former MP for Asante Akyem North.

Hon. Kwadwo Baah Agyemang, the former Member of Parliament for Asante Akyem North, has lauded Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s leadership credentials, asserting that the former Vice President possesses the essential character and emotional intelligence necessary to lead Ghana.

Pillar of Leadership:

In an exclusive interview with Kwame Tanko on Ghana Se Sen, the former lawmaker emphasized that leadership void of strong character is a liability to national progress.

He argued that individuals lacking sound values and prudent judgment are ill-suited for the presidency, as their indecision or poor choices can significantly stifle the country’s development.

“Leadership without character can negatively affect national progress. People who lack the right values and judgment are not suited for the highest office”, Hon. Agyemang stressed.

Gentleness and Intelligence:

Hon. Baah Agyemang, who also served as the Chief Executive Officer of Ghana Digital Centres, highlighted two specific traits that set Dr. Bawumia apart:

Gentleness:

A measured approach to governance and public engagement.

Emotional Intelligence:

The ability to navigate complex political and social landscapes with composure.

He further cautioned the public against mistaking “loud praise” or social media hype for genuine leadership strength, noting that popularity is often a poor barometer for effective governance.

Rebuttal:

Addressing the political fallout of the recent polls, the former MP dismissed the narrative that Dr. Bawumia suffered an “abysmal” or humiliating defeat in the 2024 general elections.

He contended that such claims are factually inaccurate and fail to reflect the nuances and competitive nature of the contest.
