B5 Plus Group Workers Protest Over Poor Working Conditions

Workers of B5 Plus Group, a leading private company specializing in steel products for modern construction, staged a demonstration this morning at the company’s factory located in Buoho, within the Afigya Kwabre South municipality of the Ashanti Region. The workers expressed dissatisfaction with the company’s management, citing poor working conditions and low wages as their primary grievances.

The protest was organized by employees who have long been frustrated with their treatment at the hands of management, which is reportedly overseen by Indian nationals. Workers voiced their concerns about the insufficient pay they receive for their labor, which they argue does not reflect the volume and intensity of the work they are expected to carry out.

Additionally, employees raised complaints about the general working conditions, which they claimed were unsafe and inadequate. Many workers highlighted the lack of proper equipment, poor safety standards, and overall neglect from management when it comes to addressing their welfare.

One of the workers, speaking on behalf of the group, expressed frustration, saying, “We are not asking for much. We simply want a fair salary that reflects our hard work and better conditions to work in. The way management has been treating us is unacceptable.”

In response to the protests, Mr. Hardi Mohammed Abubakari, the Human Resources Manager and supervisor at B5 Plus Group, assured the workers that management had taken note of their concerns and promised to resolve the issues as soon as possible. He called for patience, emphasizing that the company was committed to improving the working conditions for its staff.

“We acknowledge the concerns raised by our employees, and we are working to address them. We ask for the workers’ understanding and patience as we take the necessary steps to resolve the situation,” Mr. Abubakari stated.

The workers, while hopeful that their concerns will be addressed, remain determined to continue their protest until tangible changes are made. They have called on management to take immediate action to improve both their pay and working conditions to prevent further unrest in the future.
