AUCB-TESCON Extends Goodwill Message to NPP Presidential Aspirants Ahead of January 31 Primaries

The Executive Body of the Tertiary Students Confederacy of the New Patriotic Party (TESCON) at the African University of Communications and Business (AUCB) has extended warm goodwill messages to all presidential aspirants contesting in the New Patriotic Party’s Presidential Primaries scheduled for January 31, 2026.
In a press release issued in Accra on January 26, 2026, the AUCB-TESCON Executive described the upcoming primaries as a defining moment in the democratic journey of the New Patriotic Party, noting that the exercise goes beyond a leadership contest to reaffirm the Party’s commitment to democratic values, internal cohesion, and constitutional governance.
According to the statement, the student wing of the Party commended all aspirants for their courage, vision, and dedication to the service of both the NPP and the Republic of Ghana, stressing that their participation reflects the strength of the Party’s internal democratic processes.
“As the youth wing of our great Party, we recognize this period as a critical juncture in our democratic history. These primaries reaffirm our shared values and strengthen the NPP’s position as Ghana’s foremost democratic political institution,” the statement noted.
The AUCB-TESCON Executive further appealed to all aspirants, delegates, and stakeholders to conduct themselves with decorum and responsibility, emphasizing the need to protect the unity and integrity of the Party before, during, and after the primaries.
“We have only one New Patriotic Party — one elephant family — bound together by shared heritage, common values, and an unwavering commitment to national development,” the release stressed.
The statement also urged aspirants to prioritize party unity over personal ambition, engage in issue-based campaigns, and ensure that the primaries are conducted peacefully, transparently, and in strict adherence to the Party’s constitutional provisions.
AUCB-TESCON noted that the conduct of the primaries would once again place the NPP under national scrutiny, calling on all actors to demonstrate political maturity and uphold the Party’s long-standing reputation for democratic excellence and peaceful internal competition.
Looking beyond the primaries, the student body pledged its full support to whoever emerges victorious, assuring the eventual flagbearer of unwavering loyalty and commitment toward the 2028 General Elections.
“To whomever emerges victorious on January 31, we pledge our unwavering support and stand ready to work tirelessly, strategically, and energetically to help recapture political power in 2028,” the statement declared.
The Executive further expressed confidence in the ability of the Party to regroup after the primaries, stressing that youth mobilisation, grassroots engagement, and unity of purpose would be key to returning the NPP to government.
AUCB-TESCON concluded by praying for peaceful, credible, and successful primaries, expressing optimism that the democratic exercise would ultimately strengthen the Party and position it effectively for future electoral victory.
