The Member of Parliament for the Atwima Nwabiagya North Constituency, Frank Yeboah, has joined millions of citizens in celebrating the 69th Independence Anniversary of Ghana, urging Ghanaians to recommit themselves to hard work, unity and patriotism as the country continues its journey of national development.
In a message to mark the occasion, Hon. Yeboah congratulated citizens across the country and in the diaspora for their resilience and dedication to the growth of the nation since it attained independence on March 6, 1957. He described the anniversary as a significant moment in Ghana’s history, reminding citizens of the sacrifices and determination that led to the country’s liberation from colonial rule.
Ghana gained independence under the leadership of Kwame Nkrumah, whose vision and relentless efforts helped secure political freedom and laid the foundation for the country’s democratic governance and national identity.
According to the legislator, the celebration of Independence Day should serve as both a moment of reflection and a renewed call to action for all citizens to contribute meaningfully toward national progress.
“Today, we celebrate 69 years of freedom, resilience and nationhood since the historic declaration of independence,” he stated. “As we commemorate this important milestone, let us renew our commitment to unity, hard work and patriotism as we continue building prosperity and restoring hope for future generations.”

Hon. Yeboah emphasised that the continued development of Ghana requires the collective effort of all citizens, regardless of political affiliation, ethnicity or religious background. He noted that unity and a shared sense of national purpose remain essential in addressing the country’s challenges and strengthening democratic governance.
He further called on Ghanaians to uphold the values of peace, tolerance and social cohesion, which he described as vital pillars for sustainable development and national stability.
Ghana celebrates its Independence Day annually on March 6 to commemorate its liberation from British colonial rule in 1957, a milestone that marked the beginning of self-governance and a new era of nationhood.
As the country marks 69 years of independence, Hon. Frank Yeboah extended his best wishes to all citizens, expressing hope that the spirit of patriotism and unity would continue to guide the nation toward greater progress and prosperity.
“Happy Independence Day! God bless our homeland Ghana,” he said.
