After meeting with Constituency Executives and DCE on Friday to discussed some major issues, Hon. Kofi Amankwah Manu deputy Minister hopeful met with all the thirty four (34) Electoral Area Co-ordinators in Atwima Kwanwoma Constituency on Sunday, 18th April, 2021 to inform and discussed with them about his intentions to begin one of his major campaign promises to the good people of Atwima Kwanwoma.
He said promise dubbed “Atwima Kwanwoma Constituency SKILLS ENTERPRISE TRAINING SCHEME” is basically tipped to enhance Vocational/Technical skill development for the youth of his Constituency. His office has almost completed talks and negotiations with the Kumasi Technical University to award certificates to beneficiaries upon completion of the training.
The two-year training scheme has the following modules; fashion design, hairdressing, bakery, metal fabrication, auto mechanics, etc. MP office will take care of the cost of training, tools and equipments to facilitate easy and fast learning, cost of certification and subsequent start-up support to beneficiaries. The training shall be community based.
For the start and to pilot the programme, I have made available over one hundred (100) sewing machines to begin the fashion training module. Each Electoral Area shall submit three (3) would-be trainees (beneficiaries) and 1-3 master trainer(s) who would be vetted, selected and trained by KsTU to be made “Master Implementing Trainer(s)” at the various community levels. This will mean, at least 100 youth will be trained and equiped whiles same number of master trainers shall also earn money to cater for their venture and families. After the pilot period, a full roll out of all modules will begin.
Hopefully, the pilot phase will take off before the end of the second quarter of the year. He therefore call for the support of his Constituents to make this great dream work for the collective advantage.
