Atwima Kwanwoma MP Commissions Drip Machines, Warns Against Misuse

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Atwima Kwanwoma, Hon. Lawyer Kofi Amankwaah Manu, has officially handed over a set of drip machines to the Atwima Kwanwoma District Assembly to be used for road maintenance and development projects. The commissioning ceremony took place on Monday, 9th September 2024, at the premises of the District Assembly in Twedie. The District Chief Executive (DCE), Hon. Prince Osei Tutu Karikari, and Nana Agyenim Boateng, the chief of Kwanwoma, along with other key dignitaries, were present at the event.

In his address, Hon. Kofi Amankwaah Manu urged the District Assembly to take great care of the new equipment, stressing the importance of regular maintenance and proper usage to ensure they benefit the district for the long term. He emphasized that these machines would enhance efforts to improve the deplorable state of roads across Atwima Kwanwoma.

“I appeal to the assembly to ensure these machines are well-maintained and used appropriately for the benefit of our roads. Prioritizing their upkeep is crucial so that they can serve our district for many years to come,” the MP noted.

Additionally, Hon. Manu issued a strong warning to drivers and operators responsible for the machines, cautioning them to avoid any misuse or misappropriation of the equipment. He stated that anyone caught stealing or mishandling the machines would face the full force of the law.

“I want to make it clear that these machines are for the benefit of the community. Any attempt to steal or misuse them will be met with the appropriate legal consequences,” he warned.

Taking the opportunity to reflect on his tenure, Hon. Manu also appealed to his constituents for another four-year term, pointing to the significant development initiatives he had spearheaded. He expressed confidence that, with the support of the electorate, further progress would be achieved in the district.

“I believe we can achieve even more for Atwima Kwanwoma with your continued support. Another term will enable me to build on the progress we’ve made and bring more development to our communities,” he added.

The DCE, Hon. Prince Osei Tutu Karikari, expressed his gratitude to the MP for providing the district with these crucial machines. He emphasized that improved road infrastructure would have a positive impact on the district’s economy, helping to enhance transportation and trade. He called on traditional leaders and community members to rally behind the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government to ensure more development projects reach the area.

“The poor state of our roads has long been a challenge, but with these new machines, we will be able to address those challenges effectively. This will have a direct impact on economic activities in our district. I also urge our traditional leaders to support the government’s ongoing efforts to bring progress to our communities,” the DCE stated.

Nana Agyenim Boateng, the chief of Kwanwoma, praised the MP and DCE for their leadership and commitment to developing the district’s infrastructure. He reiterated the importance of community involvement in the success of the road improvement projects, assuring that the residents of Kwanwoma would fully support the initiative.

“The development of our district requires all of us to work together. I commend the MP and DCE for their dedication to improving our infrastructure. The people of Kwanwoma will stand behind this project to ensure its success,” Nana Agyenim Boateng remarked.

The commissioning of the drip machines is seen as a major step in the ongoing efforts to enhance road infrastructure in Atwima Kwanwoma. The machines are expected to play a key role in the maintenance and construction of roads, helping to facilitate better transportation and boosting economic activities in the district.

The event attracted a large crowd, including assembly members, traditional leaders, and residents from various communities, all of whom expressed their appreciation for the MP’s efforts to address the district’s infrastructure needs. Many viewed the commissioning as further evidence of the MP’s dedication to improving the lives of his constituents and fostering development in Atwima Kwanwoma.
