Atwima Kwanwoma DCE Warns Staff: No Room for Absenteeism and Lateness
The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Atwima Kwanwoma in the Ashanti Region, Mrs. Grace Agyemang Asamoah, has issued a strong warning to staff of the Assembly to put an end to absenteeism, lateness, and general apathy toward work, describing such behaviours as unacceptable and detrimental to the district’s development.

Speaking during a staff engagement meeting with personnel from various decentralized departments, the DCE expressed concern over the attitude of some workers who frequently prioritize personal activities over their official duties. She noted that such conduct not only affects productivity but also undermines the overall efficiency of the Assembly in meeting its development objectives.
Mrs. Asamoah reminded the workers that being in the public sector comes with responsibilities that must be fulfilled with diligence and integrity. “Public sector workers must deliver services that justify the benefits and privileges they receive. We cannot allow indiscipline and laxity to derail the progress we are all striving for,” she said.
The DCE underscored the importance of commitment and time consciousness in public service delivery and urged staff to uphold the highest standards of professionalism. She stressed that every member of staff had a role to play in ensuring that the Assembly meets its mandate of improving the living conditions of residents in the district.
Encouraging a culture of teamwork and openness, Mrs. Asamoah urged the staff to work together in unity and mutual respect, adding that her office remains accessible to all who may face challenges or seek clarification on official procedures. “If you encounter any challenges or do not understand any processes, please don’t hesitate to approach my office. It is open to all,” she assured.

She further called on departmental heads to show leadership by example and to be receptive to the concerns of their subordinates. According to her, promoting open communication and trust within the workplace would greatly boost morale and improve service delivery.
“The Assembly is doing its part to create a conducive work environment for all staff. It’s now up to each one of us to contribute our quota in upholding and enhancing the image of this institution,” she stated.
Mrs. Asamoah did not mince words as she warned that absenteeism without proper permission constitutes a serious breach of civil service regulations and will no longer be tolerated under her leadership. She added that workers found engaging in such acts would face appropriate disciplinary action.
She concluded by emphasizing that the development of the Atwima Kwanwoma District depends on a dedicated and disciplined workforce. “Our collective success hinges on the commitment, discipline, and responsibility of each staff member. Let us rise to the task and move our district forward together,” she charged.
